What characters can be used in a domain name?
You have lots of flexibility in creating your domain name. You can use:

  • Letters
  • Numbers
  • Hyphens (they can't appear at the beginning or end of the domain name)

Using any combination of the above, you can have up to 67 characters in your domain name, including the extension (e.g., .com, .net, .org). Characters that are never permitted in a domain name include:

  • Spaces
  • Special characters, e.g. @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) ? "

Note www. and http://www. are not considered part of the domain name and therefore don't count towards the 67 character maximum.

How do I edit domain name and Registrant information after registration?
There are two types of information associated with a domain name: Registrant specific information and domain specific information.

  • Registrant Specific Information: This includes Registrant Contact information. When you register a domain name through Partner Manager, we create a Registrant record to make future registrations faster and more efficient. You can change this information at any time by clicking on a Registrant's e-mail address displayed under the "Manage Domains" or "Manage Registrants" pages in the Partner Manager. Any changes to the Registrant Contact will apply to all domain names registered for that Registrant. Please note that to change the 'First Name', 'Last Name', or 'Organization' information, you must contact Partner Support.
  • Domain Specific Information: This includes Administrative, Technical Contact, and DNS Information. You can change this information at any time by clicking on a domain name under the 'Manage Domains' results page in Partner Manager. If you edit this information, the changes will apply to the specific domain only.
